WAC is excited to announce a major funding milestone with a successful raise of £600,000—a powerful boost for our commitment to ensuring every minute of work is accounted for while empowering hourly-paid workers to break free from disorganisation and truly feel good about money. Founded in 2020 by Georgina Fairhall, who experienced firsthand the common struggles of inaccurate pay and overlooked work hours in the hospitality industry, WAC was born from the determination to change the narrative for low-paid workers. Facing systemic undervaluation and the challenges of being a non-technical and sole female founder, Georgina transformed the obstacles she encountered into a call for innovation and precision in wage management.
This latest round of funding will be strategically allocated to scale our technology platform, enhance data accuracy, and streamline payroll processes—ensuring that every break, every minute worked, and every overtime hour is transparently and meticulously recorded. Additionally, the new funds will support market expansion and operational growth to meet the increasing demand for reliable timekeeping and wage verification solutions beyond our Leeds base. Our team, which has already demonstrated success with our inaugural revenue stream and a promising ARR trajectory, is now better positioned to transform the way hourly workers interact with their earnings. With this injection of capital, WAC is not only scaling its technological capabilities but also strengthening the tech, recruitment, and broader economic landscape in the North and beyond, proving that when determination meets innovation, the future of work can be both fair and financially empowering.
