Dognosis has raised $1.5M in a pre-seed round backed by Accel India and Caffeinated Capital, giving the Bangalore-based deep-tech startup runway to chase an ambitious goal: teaching machines to do what dogs do naturally-sniff out disease.
The company is working on decoding canine olfaction to build BreathEasy, a breath-based test aimed at early, multi-cancer detection. Its pitch is that the test will be ultra-affordable and highly accurate, tapping into the same biological signals that let dogs detect illness by scent. The funding arrives as the startup looks to scale that human-canine collaboration into something more systematic, though specifics on product timelines or clinical milestones weren't disclosed.
