U GRO Capital is thrilled to announce the successful raise of ₹400 crore (approximately $48 million) in funding, marking a significant milestone for the BSE and NSE listed fintech platform dedicated to supporting small businesses across India. This latest influx of capital is part of U GRO's ongoing mission to "Solve the Unsolved" concerning small business credit needs. With a firm belief that the challenges faced by small and medium enterprises (SMEs) can be tackled through specialized sector expertise and a data-centric, technology-driven approach, U GRO Capital has raised approximately ₹920 crore to date from a diverse portfolio of private equity funds, institutional investors, and esteemed family offices.
This funding will considerably enhance U GRO's ability to provide customized loan solutions tailored to the unique requirements of businesses in eight strategically identified sectors: Healthcare, Education, Chemicals, Food Processing/FMCG, Hospitality, Electrical Equipment and Components, Auto Components, and Light Engineering. The selection process involved a thorough analysis of both macro and microeconomic parameters, conducted over 18 months alongside industry experts like CRISIL. Furthermore, the inclusion of microenterprises, collectively treated as a pseudo-ninth sector, highlights U GRO's commitment to inclusivity in its lending strategies. This robust funding will propel U GRO Capital's vision to establish a comprehensive SME financing platform underpinned by a deep understanding of sectoral dynamics, supported by a fully integrated technology and analytics framework. As U GRO Capital gears up for the next phase of growth, this investment reinforces its pivotal role in empowering small businesses across India, driving innovation, and fostering economic development in the regions it serves.
