Terrafame Oy is thrilled to announce that it has successfully raised 52,000,000 euros in strategic funding—a major milestone that reinforces its commitment to revolutionizing the battery chemicals supply chain. As a leading producer in low-carbon mobility, Terrafame is renowned for delivering responsibly produced battery chemicals crucial to the global battery industry. The celebrated funding will drive the company’s innovative efforts to expand its already impressive integrated production process, which spans everything from mining to the production of chemical components on a single, energy-efficient industrial site. With one of the world’s largest production lines for chemicals used in electric vehicle batteries, Terrafame currently has the capacity to produce nickel sulphate sufficient for approximately 1 million EVs per year, all while maintaining one of the smallest carbon footprints within the sector.
Established in 2015, Terrafame’s unique operational model provides the market with a transparent, traceable, and truly European supply chain for battery chemicals. The new capital injection is set to accelerate research and development, enhance production capabilities, and expand sustainability initiatives that further reduce environmental impact. It also supports strengthening the infrastructure that underpins the company’s impressive net sales, which reached EUR 544.5 million in 2024, and reinforces its role as a key player within the European battery manufacturing landscape. With around 2,000 dedicated professionals, including 1,200 partner company employees working across its industrial site, Terrafame is poised to capitalize on this opportunity by driving forward innovations that will contribute to a cleaner, greener future for global low-carbon mobility.
