Terrafame is excited to announce that it has successfully raised EUR 100,000,000 in a new funding round, underscoring its commitment to enhancing low-carbon mobility and revolutionizing the battery chemical supply chain. Founded in 2015 and already a market leader, Terrafame produces responsibly manufactured battery chemicals that power electric vehicles around the globe. One of the world’s largest production lines for chemicals used in EV batteries is stationed at their integrated, energy-efficient industrial site, where nickel sulphate—with one of the smallest carbon footprints in the industry—is produced at a scale capable of powering approximately 1 million electric vehicles per year. This impressive capability not only reinforces Terrafame’s reputation for excellence and sustainable practices but also highlights the company’s ability to meet the growing demand for cleaner energy alternatives.
The freshly raised capital will be strategically invested to further innovate and expand Terrafame's unique production process, from mining operations directly to the final battery chemicals. This integrated approach, which already offers transparency and traceability in a truly European supply chain, is poised for further enhancement with the additional financial backing. Plans include upgrading production facilities, adopting cutting-edge technologies, and expanding the workforce at the industrial site that currently supports around 1,900 regular employees alongside partner companies. Such investments will ensure that Terrafame remains at the forefront of the green mobility revolution, consistently delivering high-quality, low-carbon battery chemicals that support the sustainable growth of the global battery industry and contribute to a cleaner, greener future.
