ST3ER is excited to announce the successful raising of €30,000 as part of our continued commitment to support the twin transition in tourism. As a key initiative under the Scaling Twin Transition in Tourism by harnessing the Experience Economy for greater Resilience (ST3ER), our project empowers tourism and creative SMEs to embrace digital and green innovation. Operating in five countries, ST3ER provides essential capacity building, guiding companies through a critical transformation process designed to enhance competitiveness, sustainability, and long-term resilience. Under the able coordination of Údarás na Gaeltachta, our coalition includes esteemed partners from Ireland (WestBIC), Spain (CEEI Báhia de Cádiz), Portugal (Science and Technology Park of University of Porto), Slovenia (Razvojni Center SRCA Slovenije) and Denmark (Creative Business Network), all united in the mission to fortify the tourism ecosystem across Europe.
The recently secured €30,000 will help kick start several innovative projects, serving as a vital investment towards the digital and green transformation of tourism SMEs. This fundraising effort complements our larger funding framework, co-funded by the European Union and managed by the EISMEA, which underpins a total project budget of €3.2 million. Over the three-year program, we aim to deliver a six-month accelerator, facilitate best practice exchanges, and catalyze 72 innovation projects through cascade funding of €1.96 million over two open calls. These initiatives play a critical role in paving a forward-looking recovery pathway in tourism, designed especially to respond to the challenges emerging from the COVID-19 crisis.
