Signal Arts Centre, an esteemed independent non-profit Visual Arts Centre, has successfully raised €22,800 as part of its ongoing mission to promote creativity and community engagement in the arts. Founded in 1990, the centre has become a cornerstone for artists, offering a variety of services that include hosting a new exhibition every fortnight, facilitating classes in ceramics and classical drawing, and providing open studio days meant for local organizations. With a membership of approximately 100 artists and arts workers, Signal Arts Centre plays a crucial role in nurturing talent and fostering collaboration within the creative community.
The recent funding will be allocated towards expanding our Community Employment Programme, which is designed to support out-of-work artists by providing them with vital training, mentorship, access to state-of-the-art facilities, and invaluable networking opportunities. This initiative not only enriches the lives of individual artists but also strengthens the local arts community as a whole. Furthermore, the funding will help enhance our existing programs, including our annual Open Show, which awards €1,000 to up-and-coming artists.
