In a significant stride toward advancing Earth observation capabilities, SatVu has successfully raised $10 million in funding to bolster its innovative approach to thermal imaging from space. With the pioneering objective of capturing the highest resolution thermal data available, SatVu’s satellites allow for unparalleled observation of heat variations across the globe, achieving resolutions of up to 3.5 meters. This groundbreaking technology, exemplified by the company's inaugural satellite, HotSat-1, launched in June 2023, positions SatVu at the forefront of industries relying on precise thermal data including economic monitoring, national security, and climate resilience initiatives. The upcoming launches of HotSat-2 and HotSat-3 in 2025 will expand this ambitious constellation, aiming to achieve global coverage with multiple revisits each day. The funding will facilitate further enhancements to SatVu's sensor and processing technology, enabling features such as night-time surveillance, which traditional optical imaging cannot provide. Additionally, the company’s unique capability to deliver thermal data through both still images and 60-second video sequences allows for dynamic monitoring of both natural and built environments, even in inaccessible areas.
