We are thrilled to announce that Rosie, a non-profit organization dedicated to alleviating the financial burden of personal hygiene supplies for those in need, has successfully raised $1,500,000 in funding. Established in March 2015 and staffed entirely by passionate college students, Rosie has been on a mission to address a critical issue facing thousands of Oregonians. With nearly one-fifth of the state's residents living below the poverty line, the necessity of personal hygiene products often goes unaddressed, as food stamps fail to cover these essential items. This funding will significantly bolster our efforts to provide free hygiene products, particularly for individuals experiencing menstruation or incontinence, who face increased challenges in accessing safe and sanitary supplies. The repercussions of this lack of access are profound, leading many to resort to unsafe alternatives and forcing individuals to miss out on education and job opportunities. Our commitment is rooted in the belief that access to hygiene should not be seen as a luxury, and with this financial support, we aim to bridge the gap for those struggling in silence. While our current focus is on offering free personal hygiene supplies, we are excited about the future potential this funding provides, opening avenues for expanding our services to better meet the needs of our community. As we look ahead, we remain steadfast in our mission to foster dignity and health for everyone in Oregon, reinforcing the critical importance of support systems that uplift and empower marginalized individuals.
