Loyalsock Foundation is thrilled to announce a significant leap forward in its mission to create a multi-generational wellness and cultural community center in rural Sullivan County, PA. Recently, the Foundation successfully raised $371,500, which will play a pivotal role in the development of The Summit: Center for Wellness campus. This ambitious project, designed with the local lumbering heritage in mind, aims to serve as a hub for health, fitness, education, and outdoor recreation—a place where community members can come together to improve their wellbeing while celebrating the region's unique cultural identity. With approximately 70 acres already purchased or leased, the Foundation has made substantial progress, including the completion of architectural concept plans and a comprehensive market and operational analysis in 2022. The newfound funding will be instrumental in financing the construction of a much-needed .516-mile gravel access road, which is a crucial step toward unlocking public access to the campus. Estimated at over $1 million, the driveway project is vital for accommodating the anticipated visitors to the wellness center and ensuring the sustainable operation of various indoor and outdoor multi-purpose venues, including a natural rock ledge amphitheater. The support of volunteers and local organizations has been key in this journey, as they continue to write grants, conduct surveys, and research community health needs. With this funding boost, Loyalsock Foundation is one step closer to transforming its vision into reality, fostering a healthier, more vibrant Sullivan County for generations to come.
