Hysata, an innovative company on the forefront of the green hydrogen revolution, has successfully raised $111.3 million in its latest funding round. Founded with the mission to accelerate the world’s shift away from fossil fuels, Hysata is dedicated to transforming how hydrogen is produced through its groundbreaking electrolyser technology. This recent investment marks a significant milestone for the company, as it works to bring the cost of green hydrogen production down to $2 per kilogram, a key threshold for making green hydrogen economically feasible on a large scale.
At the core of Hysata's efforts is its novel hydrogen electrolyser, which leverages unique Australian technology developed at the University of Wollongong’s ARC Centre of Excellence for Electromaterials Science, under the guidance of renowned chemical catalysis expert Professor Gerry Swiegers. By utilizing a more efficient method to split water into hydrogen and oxygen, Hysata’s electrolyser stands to significantly improve the economics of green hydrogen production, paving the way for wider adoption in the global energy landscape.
As green hydrogen is recognized as essential for achieving net zero emissions and could potentially satisfy up to 20% of global energy demand, this funding will enable Hysata to accelerate its development and commercialization efforts. With the support from investors, including notable entities from ventures in clean energy finance, Hysata is poised to play a pivotal role in driving the transition to a sustainable, hydrogen-powered future.
