Giraffe Bioenergy is thrilled to announce a significant milestone in our journey towards sustainable energy solutions and economic empowerment: we have successfully raised $1,100,000 in funding to further our mission of creating rural bioeconomies in Kenya. Founded with the goal of integrating cutting-edge agricultural technology with ethanol manufacturing, Giraffe Bioenergy focuses on transforming cassava into locally-produced ethanol cooking fuel. This initiative not only addresses the urgent need for clean cooking alternatives in Kenya but also uplifts women in farming communities by providing them with meaningful economic opportunities.
Cassava, a versatile food source with high nutritional value, serves as a cornerstone for our operations. We are utilizing Rapid Propagation Technology (RPT) at our Center for Cassava Excellence in Kilifi, disrupting traditional farming practices and enhancing crop yields to meet the rising demand for bioethanol. The funding will enable Giraffe Bioenergy to scale our cassava farming operations and expand our ethanol production capacity, ultimately delivering a sustainable, renewable alternative to fossil fuel-based cooking methods. Ethanol cooking fuel not only improves indoor air quality and reduces health risks but also supports local economies in energy-scarce areas. By championing the cause of rural women and ensuring they have access to safe and affordable energy solutions, we are deeply committed to fostering lasting change.
