Cool Planet Technologies (CPT), a pioneering carbon capture company, has successfully raised $23.7 million in funding, a significant boost that will enhance its mission to decarbonize a variety of industries. The funds will primarily support the company's revolutionary membrane-based technology, designed to efficiently capture up to 99% of carbon dioxide emissions from industrial flue gases. This innovative process not only promises to lower the costs associated with carbon removal but also offers a scalable solution suitable for various applications, from smaller operations to major industrial facilities. Currently, CPT is collaborating with Holcim to implement its technology at the Höver cement plant in Germany, illustrating the real-world applicability and effectiveness of its carbon capture capabilities. Following successful pilot programs at coal-fired power stations, CPT’s upcoming demonstration plant, slated to capture 10,000 tonnes per annum starting in 2025, will serve as a critical step toward full-scale commercialization. The cooperation with Helmholtz Zentrum Hereon has been instrumental, enabling both the development and upscaling of this cutting-edge technology. Supported by investors including ENI Next, Audacy Ventures, and Neva SGR, CPT is well-poised to make significant strides in the fight against climate change. This funding round not only reinforces CPT's commitment to sustainable practices but also solidifies its role as a leader in the global push for carbon neutrality across industries.
