Prospect Hospice is thrilled to announce that it has successfully raised £127,000 in a recent funding round, underscoring the community’s unwavering support for our mission to provide outstanding end-of-life care. Since our inception in 1980, we have been committed to offering compassionate, round-the-clock care and comfort to patients and their families across Swindon, north east Wiltshire, and parts of Gloucestershire. This generous infusion of funds will be instrumental in enhancing our tailored care services, ensuring that we continue to deliver clinical, emotional, and practical support that meets the unique needs of each individual. With our services available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, this funding will help bolster our specialist teams—including nurses, doctors, therapists, and family support staff—across our hospice in Wroughton, in patients’ homes, and in the wider community.
Furthermore, the investment comes at a pivotal moment as we expand our nationally accredited education and training programs. These courses are designed to elevate the understanding of end-of-life issues among healthcare professionals and care homes, enabling us to work more closely with other health and social care providers. In 2021 alone, we had the honor of supporting 1,928 patients and 504 carers and family members, a testament to the positive impact of our services. As a charity that provides all care free of charge, we are immensely grateful for donations that contribute to covering the ÂŁ7.5million annual cost of our operations. This latest funding will empower us to further invest in innovative care solutions and expand our training offerings, ensuring that high-quality, personalised end-of-life care remains accessible to everyone in our community.
