Popwheels has secured $2,300,000 in a recent funding round, positioning the company for its next phase of growth. The capital infusion will support Popwheels' mission to build a nationwide network of outdoor battery-swap cabinets designed to power small vehicles, food carts, and eventually provide backup energy for buildings.
The company has established a track record through key initiatives. Popwheels participated in the NYC DOT Public E-Bike Battery Charging Pilot Program, where its product reduced in-home charging by over 90%. It also joined the DC Department of Transportation’s E-Bike Food Delivery Pilot, aiming to support cleaner and safer food delivery operations. Notably, Popwheels launched the first FDNY-approved outdoor battery-swapping location, setting a new standard for safe, UL-compliant urban energy solutions.
This investment round is significant as Popwheels prepares for further expansion across the U.S. and Canada. The newly raised funds are planned to accelerate the deployment of its battery-swap infrastructure, enhance technological capabilities, and scale operations into new geographic markets. This strategic capital will enable Popwheels to meet increasing demand for reliable and accessible energy solutions in urban environments.
Popwheels partners with a diverse group of stakeholders, including governments, landlords, utilities, riders, and fleets. These collaborations are integral to its strategy as it expands its footprint and integrates its services more deeply into urban ecosystems. The company’s approach focuses on addressing critical energy needs while adhering to safety and regulatory standards.
With this new funding, Popwheels is set to advance its vision of making city energy cleaner, fairer, and more accessible. The company aims to connect people through continued innovation and an optimistic approach to urban energy solutions, fostering sustainable development across North America.
