partX by mit:forschen! has secured $4,693 in new investment capital from investors, marking a step in its ongoing development to strengthen citizen science initiatives. The funding round underscores confidence in the platform's role in advancing public engagement with research across Germany.
mit:forschen! serves as the central platform for Citizen Science in Germany, dedicated to presenting, connecting, and supporting citizen science projects and stakeholders. Established in April 2014, the organization, formerly known as Bürger schaffen Wissen until its rebranding in April 2024, plays a crucial role in developing, promoting, and informing the public about opportunities to participate in scientific research.
This capital will enable partX by mit:forschen! to pursue various growth initiatives. The funds are planned to further enhance the platform's capabilities and expand its outreach efforts, ensuring continued support for the diverse network of citizen scientists and researchers. Such investment is critical for initiatives looking to scale their impact and infrastructure.
The platform actively fosters community exchange and networking through events such as the specialized conference Forum Citizen Science and regular digital midday sessions. It also contributes to competency building in citizen science through training workshops and guides. Since 2023, mit:forschen! has recognized outstanding scientific achievements in citizen science through the "Wissen der Vielen – Forschungspreis für Citizen Science."
Looking ahead, partX by mit:forschen! is committed to expanding its footprint and continuing to evolve its offerings. The organization aims to further popularize citizen research, provide innovative tools for collaboration, and solidify its position as a vital hub for fostering shared knowledge creation in Germany.
