We have successfully raised $975,000 in new funding, marking a critical step forward in scaling our groundbreaking technology and expanding our global reach. With over eight years of rigorous research and development at the German Aerospace Center—where we received $900K in foundational R&D support—Ocean Ledger has transformed historical geomorphic and environmental data into proprietary geospatial models that cater to a wide range of applications. Our innovative solutions leverage multi-decadal records of shoreline movement, underwater topography, and vital ecosystem indicators such as seagrass, coral, mangroves, and tidal flats to assess and predict both physical and nature-related risks, including flood hazards to nearshore assets.
This investment will accelerate the enhancement of our advanced Dashboard Product, enabling clients to access comprehensive historical environmental trends, a dynamic spatial baseline for asset-level risk assessment, and detailed climate scenario predictions. With this robust tool, communities, municipalities, and organizations can not only evaluate the potential impacts of floods, storms, and rising sea levels but also conduct scenario analyses to determine the efficacy of their coastal adaptation interventions—whether nature-based or engineered.
Furthermore, our innovative approach integrates the UN SEEA natural capital framework, providing a standardized method for quantifying and monitoring coastal ecosystems, identifying restoration opportunities, and ensuring effective resource management. The new funding will bolster our commitment to delivering locally-adapted models that are applicable at any scale, from individual assets to whole cities and regions.
