North Island College is thrilled to announce a successful funding raise of $881,600, a significant milestone that underscores our unwavering commitment to student success and community development. As a comprehensive college renowned for its diverse program offerings in degrees, university transfer, trades, health, and vocational studies, this capital injection will fuel transformative initiatives across our campuses in Port Hardy, Campbell River, Comox Valley, Port Alberni, and Ucluelet. Our mission to inspire students to explore, discover their direction, and truly find #YourNorth has been the cornerstone of our approach to education, and this funding will enhance our capacity to drive meaningful change in the lives of our learners.
The newly acquired funds will primarily be used to expand innovative programs and upgrade critical infrastructure, ensuring that our students have access to state-of-the-art resources and learning environments. This investment will also support the creation of dynamic, career-focused opportunities, including the enhancement of our job board available at https://careers.nic.bc.ca/, which connects aspiring professionals with exciting career prospects.
At North Island College, we hold deep respect for the traditional territories of the combined 35 First Nations of the Nuu-chah-nulth, Kwakwaka’wakw, and Coast Salish traditions. Acknowledging these unceded territories is not only a mark of respect but a reminder of the rich cultural heritage that enriches our campuses and further informs our educational journey. With this funding, we look forward to advancing our commitment to academic excellence and vibrant community engagement, ensuring that every student has the opportunity to flourish in their chosen path and contribute meaningfully to the communities we serve.
