NineDot Energy is thrilled to announce a significant funding milestone, having successfully raised $40 million to advance our mission of transforming urban energy landscapes. As a pioneering company committed to creating innovative energy solutions, our goal is to facilitate a cleaner, more equitable, and resilient energy grid while lowering costs for urban communities. The latest capital influx will specifically enable the expansion of our battery storage sites throughout the New York City metropolitan area, including the critical regions of Westchester and Long Island. With an ambitious focus on integrating vehicle-to-grid (V2G) capabilities into our projects, we aspire to optimize energy distribution and further boost the resiliency of our urban electric infrastructure.
Our name, NineDot Energy, was inspired by a classic mathematical puzzle symbolizing the importance of "thinking outside the box." This ethos is central to our approach, as we use out-of-the-box creativity to merge innovative business models with community-centered energy solutions that drive clean energy initiatives in high-demand areas of the electric utility grid. Our operations are anchored at the NYU Tandon School of Engineering Urban Future Lab in Brooklyn, where we harness academic prowess and cutting-edge research.
In support of our endeavor, we have received backing from prestigious organizations such as the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), the New York State Energy Research and Development Agency (NYSERDA), and the Carlyle investment group, among others. This new funding round marks a pivotal moment in our journey and underscores the growing recognition of the need for sustainable energy solutions in urban settings. We are excited to leverage this investment to help shape the future of clean energy in our cities.
