This new funding will be strategically invested to celebrate and develop what makes Newport so unique—from its diverse neighborhoods and scenic coastal landscapes to its rich history and thriving arts culture.
The funds will drive key projects to elevate visitor experiences and community engagement. In Agate Beach, for instance, improvements near the iconic Yaquina Head Lighthouse will invite more tourists to surf, explore, and enjoy clamming, while Nye Beach is set to see enhanced support for its eclectic array of shops, restaurants, and lodging—ensuring that every stroll along the boardwalk is memorable. The Deco District, home to stunning art deco architecture, and the historic Bayfront area, with its bustling fishing port and vibrant local markets, are also slated for revitalization initiatives that underscore Newport’s commitment to preserving its storied past while embracing future growth. Additionally, South Beach attractions like the Oregon Coast Aquarium and the Hatfield Marine Science Center will benefit from targeted enhancements that promote educational and recreational opportunities.
