The company's proprietary technology involves specialized sample preparation and software. This system tags DNA/RNA molecules with DNA barcodes, which are then copied and distributed intra-molecularly throughout long molecules. These barcoded libraries are subsequently converted into standard short read libraries and sequenced on any conventional short read sequencer. Following sequencing, Loop Genomics' software groups reads with identical barcodes, assembling them back into the longer molecules that were originally tagged. This process enables the assembly of genomes, transcriptomes, or targeted amplicons from long reads, providing highly accurate, single molecule long read data without requiring new hardware investments.
