We are thrilled to announce that Delta Lake has successfully raised $10 million in funding to accelerate our mission of enhancing data analytics and processing capabilities through our open-source storage framework. As a pivotal component of the Lakehouse architecture, Delta Lake provides seamless integration with an array of compute engines such as Spark, PrestoDB, Flink, Trino, and Hive, along with robust APIs for Scala, Java, Rust, Ruby, and Python. This financial infusion will empower us to further develop innovative features, enhance user experience, and broaden our community outreach by making our technology even more accessible to data professionals and organizations worldwide.
Delta Lake, which we proudly joined as a sub-project of the Linux Foundation in 2019, is committed to maintaining independence and ensuring that users can leverage our technology without being locked into any proprietary platform. This funding will not only help us improve the core functionalities of our framework but also strengthen our community engagement efforts, encouraging more collaborators and users to contribute to the Delta Lake project. We are excited about the journey ahead and are dedicated to continuing the development of a transparent, scalable, and feature-rich open-source solution that drives the next generation of data lakes and analytics. With this support, we aim to empower organizations of all sizes to harness the true potential of their data, propelling them towards informed decision-making and innovation. Thank you to all our supporters and partners who believe in the power of open-source collaboration!
