iD Fresh Food, a company specializing in 100% natural and authentic ready-to-cook Indian meals, has secured $5K in its latest funding round. The Bengaluru-based company, known for its fresh food products free from chemicals, preservatives, or artificial flavors, aims to provide convenient home-cooked meal solutions for consumers with busy lifestyles. This investment underscores the continued confidence in iD Fresh Food's business model and its position in the fresh food market.
Established in 2005, iD Fresh Food has grown significantly from its origins in a 50-sqft kitchen to become India’s largest fresh food brand. It is now an INR 1000 Cr brand with a substantial presence across more than 50 cities in India, the US, UK, and the Middle East. The company manufactures over 100,000 kg of idly/dosa batter daily, distributing it to more than 50,000 retail outlets. Its product portfolio has expanded to include items such as Vada Batter, Filter Coffee, Paneer, Malabar Parota, and an organic product line.
The funding round saw participation from investors including Premji Invest, Azim Premji’s investment arm, and NewQuest. While specific plans for the $5K capital were not detailed, iD Fresh Food is expected to deploy the funds towards further scaling its operations, enhancing its product development initiatives, and expanding its market reach both domestically and internationally. This capital injection is anticipated to support the company's strategic growth objectives.
iD Fresh Food continues its mission to ensure that healthy food remains accessible amidst the demands of modern life. With a team of over 2,500 employees, the company is committed to its "Pure Food, Proud Lives" ethos. Looking ahead, iD Fresh Food plans to continue innovating its product range, including the ongoing conversion of its entire operations to organic, reinforcing its commitment to natural and wholesome food options for its growing customer base.
