We are thrilled to announce that iCOMAT has successfully raised £22,500,000 in our latest funding round, an investment that will fuel our continued innovation and accelerate the adoption of our revolutionary Rapid Tow Shearing (RTS) technology. As a spin-out from the University of Bristol, iCOMAT has pioneered the development of a patented, defect-free fibre-steering process that redefines the composites manufacturing landscape. Our RTS technology is the world’s first automated process capable of placing carbon fibre tapes along curved paths with absolute precision, eliminating defects and opening new avenues in the production of ultra-lightweight and highly efficient composite structures. This breakthrough not only enables the manufacturing of components that outperform traditional straight fibre designs but also dramatically reduces production costs and material waste by optimising the placement of fibres based on the unique demands of each structure. The infusion of new capital will empower us to further refine our technology and expand its application across critical markets such as aerospace, automotive, and marine sectors. With our innovative approach to composite materials—optimising mechanical properties at every point and ensuring material is used only where it is needed—we are poised to deliver lighter, stronger, and more cost-effective solutions that drive superior performance. At iCOMAT, our commitment to advancing the cutting-edge of composite manufacturing is unwavering, and this funding milestone marks an exciting step forward as we work closely with industry partners to reshape the future of transport and beyond.
