Cooling accounts for a staggering 20% of global energy demand, often consuming up to 90% of electricity costs for cold storage operators and 40% for data centers. It's this massive energy drain that Gyre Energy aims to tackle, and the startup has now secured $1.3M in pre-seed funding to advance its mission.
The capital infusion, backed by investors including Speedinvest, rule30, and Plug and Play, will support Gyre's platform technology. This system leverages advanced AI and low-cost thermal storage to significantly reduce energy use and enable large-scale distributed flexibility for cooling assets, promising substantial cost savings for intensive operators.
