Stegra, formerly known as H2 Green Steel, is thrilled to announce a significant funding achievement, having raised an impressive $300 million in its latest investment round. Founded in 2020 with a mission to decarbonize the hard-to-abate industrial sector, Stegra is leading the charge towards a sustainable future through innovative solutions in green hydrogen and steel production. The funding will primarily support the construction of our state-of-the-art integrated plant in Boden, Sweden, which is currently underway. This facility is designed to produce green hydrogen, green iron, and green steel by utilizing renewable electricity, enabling a substantial reduction in emissions. The goal of our first project is to kickstart a clean industrial revolution, positioning steel as just the first step in a broader commitment to transforming various sectors towards sustainability. As we expand, Stegra is also focused on building a diverse and talented team, aiming to employ close to 1,500 individuals by the end of 2025 across our locations in Boden and Stockholm. This funding not only underscores the growing support for our vision but also strengthens our commitment to delivering a green impact for our employees, customers, investors, society, and the planet at large. With this financial backing, we are excited to advance our mission, innovate our processes, and ultimately contribute to a more sustainable and environmentally conscious industrial landscape.
