We are thrilled to announce that the Mark Hughes Foundation has successfully raised $5,400,000 in our latest funding round. Founded in Newcastle by Mark and Kirralee Hughes, following Mark’s diagnosis with brain cancer in 2013, our charity has remained steadfast in its mission to raise essential funds for brain cancer research, boost awareness, and provide comprehensive support to brain cancer patients and their families. This significant influx of funds represents not only a milestone in our fundraising efforts but also a renewed commitment to the ongoing fight against this devastating disease. Over the past years, our foundation has raised close to $30 million and has been instrumental in establishing the Mark Hughes Foundation Centre for Brain Cancer Research, developing the MHF Brain Cancer Biobank, and supporting a range of vital initiatives including travel grants, multiple research projects across Australia, three prestigious Fellowships, and several Brain Cancer Care Coordinators.
The new funding will enable us to extend our research capabilities, further develop innovative care models, and increase our outreach efforts nationwide. Every dollar raised brings us one step closer to unravelling the mysteries of brain cancer and ultimately improving the lives of countless individuals affected by this condition.
