Empowering Female Athletes: IDA Sports Secures $2M in Seed Funding for Innovative Soccer Cleats

IDA Sports is excited to announce that it has successfully raised $2,000,000 in its latest funding round! Founded by Laura Youngson and Ben Sandhu, IDA Sports is on a mission to revolutionize the world of women’s soccer footwear. Following a groundbreaking experience with the Equal Playing Field Initiative, where they set a Guinness World Record for the highest altitude soccer game to shed light on gender inequality in sports, Laura realized a larger issue at hand: many female soccer players were struggling with uncomfortable cleats. In response, IDA Sports spent two years collaborating with podiatrists, physical therapists, coaches, and over 800 female players to create soccer cleats meticulously designed to fit women’s unique foot structures. With custom outsoles tailored to address pain points such as blisters and pinching, IDA's innovative approach ensures that female athletes can focus on their game without the distraction of ill-fitting equipment. This funding will significantly bolster our efforts to produce and distribute our cleats and expand our outreach programs that empower women and girls to chase their athletic dreams confidently.
