Empowering Change: YWCA Canberra Secures $10 Million in Funding for Women's Services

YWCA Canberra is thrilled to announce a significant funding milestone, having successfully raised $10 million to amplify its vital services and advocacy initiatives for women and girls in the ACT and surrounding regions. Established in 1929, YWCA Canberra has long been a champion for women’s issues, rooted in a mission of strengthening communities through targeted support for girls and women. The newly secured funding will be instrumental in expanding our reach across key service areas, including children’s services, homelessness and affordable housing, youth services, and personal and professional training. This investment not only fortifies our operational capabilities but also enhances our commitment to providing quality, accredited services that adhere to rigorous standards such as the Quality Improvement Council (QIC) Health and Community Service Standards and the National Quality Standard for Early Childhood Education and Care. As we position ourselves for growth, this funding will allow us to further advocate for women’s leadership and equity, while ensuring a diverse and culturally appropriate environment for our clients. Additionally, being part of the global YWCA network, which encompasses 120 countries, empowers us to share best practices and innovate our services in alignment with international standards.
