CarbonCure Technologies, a pioneer in low carbon concrete innovation, has successfully raised $80 million in its latest funding round, marking a significant milestone in its mission to turn concrete into a climate solution. With this new investment, CarbonCure aims to further advance its integrated decarbonization platform that empowers concrete producers to significantly cut their carbon emissions while also reducing production costs. By retrofitting its groundbreaking technologies into existing concrete plants, CarbonCure transforms them into carbon removal factories that actively reduce the embodied carbon footprint of concrete products without disrupting operations.
The funding will be utilized to accelerate the development and deployment of CarbonCure’s state-of-the-art solutions for ready mix concrete, precast concrete, and reclaimed water. By injecting captured CO₂ into the concrete manufacturing process, CarbonCure not only enhances the durability of concrete but also mineralizes CO₂, ensuring it remains embedded for the lifecycle of the structures—helping to curb greenhouse gas emissions even after demolition. As a respected leader in an industry that has long struggled with sustainability, CarbonCure has garnered recognition as a Carbon XPRIZE Grand Prize winner and a member of the Cleantech 100 Hall of Fame. This latest infusion of capital underscores the growing demand for sustainable building materials and positions CarbonCure as a formidable force in making concrete a viable climate solution.
