We are excited to announce that Ucaneo has successfully raised $7,330,000 in new funding—a significant step forward for our revolutionary approach in tackling climate change. At Ucaneo, we are proud to develop pioneering Direct Air Capture technology that mimics the remarkable process of CO2 management in the human lung. Our state-of-the-art electrochemical system utilises electricity and a specialised biomimetic solvent to continuously remove atmospheric CO2 at room temperature. This innovative process not only concentrates CO2 into a pure gas for industrial use but also does so in an energy-efficient manner that works in harmony with variable intermittent renewable sources like solar and wind. Such compatibility allows us to take advantage of energy price arbitrage while providing flexible, on-demand CO2 removal—a critical capability as we work towards mitigating global emissions.
The newly secured funding will be instrumental in scaling up our technology from promising early-stage results to full industrial deployment. Our overarching goal is ambitious yet necessary: to capture 0.5 gigatonnes of CO2 from the air by 2035—an amount roughly equivalent to the combined weight of all human beings on the planet. This scaling effort not only reinforces our commitment to addressing the urgent challenge of climate change at scale but also paves the way for enhanced industrial applications and sustainable practices. As we embark on this transformative phase, we invite talented professionals in chemical engineering, electrochemistry, and mechanical engineering to join our visionary team. Together, we are set to lead the charge in innovative climate solutions while driving significant environmental and industrial impact.
