The Pandemic Fund is thrilled to announce a successful fundraising round, securing an impressive $128.9 million to further its mission of enhancing pandemic preparedness and response capabilities in low- and middle-income countries. Established in September 2022, the Pandemic Fund emerged from a strong foundation of international collaboration and insight gained from past global health crises, including COVID-19. This first-of-its-kind multilateral financing platform is dedicated to channelling financial resources where they are needed the most, prioritizing equity and inclusivity in its approach. Since its inception, the Fund has mobilized a remarkable $2 billion in seed funding from 27 contributors, reflecting a global commitment to public health. With the first round of grants awarded in 2023, the Pandemic Fund has already begun to make a tangible impact by supporting projects aimed at building critical health capacities within and between nations. The recently raised $128.9 million will fuel the second round of grants, which will be awarded imminently, further accelerating the Fund's efforts to enhance global health security. As we continue our mission to prevent future pandemics and protect vulnerable populations, we remain grateful for the ongoing support from our contributors and partners. Together, we are committed to creating a more resilient world better equipped to deal with health emergencies.
