Biosimulytics, a pioneering deep-tech spin-out from University College Dublin’s School of Chemical & Bioprocess Engineering, has successfully raised €5 million in a recent funding round. Founded in 2019, Biosimulytics leverages the latest advancements in artificial intelligence, advanced neural networks, molecular modeling, quantum technologies, and high-performance computing to revolutionize the development of new and improved therapies. This significant funding will bolster the company’s efforts in its core specializations: polymorphism prediction, which addresses a critical challenge in pharmaceuticals by accurately forecasting the arrangements of active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) molecules, and structure-based drug design (SBDD), enhancing drug development through dependable predictions of stable binding poses. Notably, Biosimulytics is a proud participant in the EIC Accelerator since September 2023, has been recognized as finalists for the EIT Innovation Team Award, and is now part of the EIT Digital portfolio following completion of the EIT Innovation Factory programme for 2022-2023. Additionally, the company was honored as Start-up of the Year at NovaUCD, reinforcing its commitment to innovation in healthcare. As Biosimulytics harnesses its new funding, it aims to push the boundaries of drug development, paving the way for more effective therapies that can significantly enhance patient outcomes.
