BharatPe, the fintech innovator dedicated to driving financial inclusion for Indian merchants, has successfully raised an impressive $15.5 million in its latest funding round. Founded in 2018, BharatPe quickly established itself as a pioneer by launching India’s first interoperable UPI QR code and introducing a zero MDR payment acceptance service that has revolutionized the way merchants handle transactions. With the ongoing commitment to uplifting small businesses, the company expanded its offerings with BharatSwipe, an initiative that provides zero MDR card acceptance terminals, particularly essential in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic. Currently, BharatPe serves over 1 million merchants across more than 400 cities, processing an annualized transaction value of $26 billion in payments. This funding will be instrumental in enhancing the company’s technological infrastructure, further developing its product offerings, and scaling its operations to reach even more merchants. To date, BharatPe has disbursed over ₹10,000 crores in loans to support merchant growth and resilience. With its impressive track record and the backing of prominent investors like Tiger Global, Sequoia Capital, and Insight Partners, BharatPe is well positioned to continue its trajectory of success and significantly impact the Indian financial ecosystem. The latest investment marks a pivotal step in BharatPe's mission to ensure that every merchant has access to affordable financial services, fortifying its role as a leader in facilitating seamless transactions and capitalizing on the vast potential within India's evolving digital economy.
