We are thrilled to announce that Better Time Stories has successfully raised €50,000 to further its mission of bringing comfort and connection to displaced children affected by the ongoing war in Ukraine. Founded by Ukrainian social-tech entrepreneur Andriy Shmyhelskyy through his company iKs B.V. and supported by the number 5 foundation, this non-profit initiative offers a beacon of hope to the approximately 1.8 million Ukrainian children who have fled their homes. These children face the profound trauma of separation from family, loss of familiar belongings, and the challenges of adapting to a new environment. In response to this crisis, Better Time Stories provides a special gift set featuring five bilingual picture books that address themes such as comfort, love, and optimism. These beautifully illustrated books can be narrated remotely by family members still in Ukraine through a secure web app, allowing children to hear their loved ones' voices, thus bridging the gap created by distance. The funds raised will be pivotal in scaling our outreach, enabling us to distribute more gift packages and expand our reach to families in need. With your support, we aim to foster a sense of belonging and help these children embrace their new surroundings while keeping their families connected, despite the trials they face. Together, we can help light up their situation and remind them that love transcends borders.
