Arcturus, a company dedicated to transforming how the world engages with video, has secured $2,300,000 in its latest funding round. This capital infusion will support the company's mission to deliver high-quality digital humans and expand its innovative volumetric video solutions.
Arcturus captures people in true 3D, known as volumetric video, bringing authentic human presence to various digital landscapes. Their technology is applied across metaverse experiences, large out-of-home advertising campaigns, and interactive training simulations. Notable projects include enabling stadium fans to take photos with Dallas Cowboys players, creating multiple Madonna holograms for her 2019 Billboard Music Awards performance, and developing interactive medical training for NASA astronauts during deep space missions.
The newly raised funds are planned to be used for strategic growth initiatives, including enhancing their proprietary HoloCapture and HoloSuite platforms. HoloSuite is an end-to-end solution for editing, streaming, and playback of volumetric content. This investment will enable Arcturus to expand its technical capabilities, refine its offerings for brands seeking holographic experiences, and further develop its tools for studios working with volumetric video.
Arcturus brings extensive industry experience, with its team drawing from backgrounds at companies such as Pixar, Dreamworks, ILM Lucasfilms, Google, and YouTube. This depth of expertise has enabled them to develop vanguard technical products for clients including Bjork Digital, Within, Lytro, and Andra.
Looking ahead, Arcturus aims to leverage this investment to continue its innovation in volumetric video technology. The company intends to scale its operations and solidify its position as a strategic partner for delivering advanced digital human experiences, driving further adoption of its unique solutions across diverse industries.
