247Solar, Inc., an MIT spin-out specializing in clean industrial process heat and baseload renewable energy solutions, has secured $3,500,000 in new investment capital from investors. This funding round marks a significant step for the company as it progresses with its commercialization strategy.
The company focuses on providing innovative, round-the-clock renewable energy solutions designed to reduce costs and carbon emissions for customers in high-growth decarbonization markets. These include mines, industrial combined heat and power (CHP) facilities, data centers, and green hydrogen production. 247Solar’s model involves financing, owning, building, and operating its projects through special purpose vehicles (SPVs) to deliver continuous zero or low-carbon heat and electricity on a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) basis. Its modular, scalable, and factory-produced systems aim to deliver highly reliable clean energy without interruption.
This investment underscores confidence in 247Solar's technology and its potential to address critical energy needs. The secured capital will be utilized to further advance its commercialization efforts and support the expansion of its innovative renewable energy solutions. To date, more than $24 million has been invested in 247Solar technology, including $6 million from the U.S. Department of Energy, highlighting substantial prior support for its development.
The company is currently undertaking a Series B capital raise targeting $25 million, with this recent investment contributing to that ongoing effort. With a near-term project pipeline exceeding $200 million, 247Solar is positioned for substantial growth. The company aims to fulfill the promise of continuous renewable energy, driving cost reduction and decarbonization across key industrial sectors and contributing to a more sustainable energy future.
