Zepo.in, an Indian e-commerce platform provider, has secured $14.9 million in new funding. The company, which aims to empower small businesses across India to establish and manage their online presence, received the investment to support its ongoing expansion. This funding round underscores the increasing investor interest in India's rapidly evolving digital commerce landscape and Zepo's position within it.
Zepo provides a comprehensive suite of tools designed to simplify online selling for small and medium-sized enterprises. Its platform offers users a choice of over 100 e-commerce website themes, integrates a free payment gateway for online transactions, provides logistics support for order fulfillment, and offers marketing assistance to promote online stores. The company's mission is to make e-commerce as accessible and straightforward as taking orders via telephone, enabling businesses to leverage the digital medium beneficially.
Currently powering more than 2000 online businesses across India, Zepo has demonstrated significant growth since its inception. The company has expanded from a small office to a team of over 50 members operating across four cities: Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, and Noida. The newly raised capital will be deployed to accelerate its growth initiatives, expand its operational footprint, and further develop its platform capabilities to meet the evolving needs of its growing merchant base.
Looking ahead, Zepo plans to continue its trajectory of growth, both as a company and in terms of its team. The investment is expected to strengthen its capacity to innovate and enhance its offerings, reinforcing its commitment to shaping the future of e-commerce for small businesses throughout India.
