We are thrilled to announce that xWAVES has successfully raised $1,000,000 in a funding round aimed at accelerating our growth as a dynamic, free-of-charge community that unites female founders, researchers, and investors from around the globe. Born out of the Oxford chapters known as OxWAVES and now proudly active at premier institutions including Cambridge, Imperial, Harvard, Stanford, MIT, Berkeley, and Yale, xWAVES fosters a supportive ecosystem where cutting-edge ideas converge with world-class mentorship. This important investment will empower us to expand and enhance our dedicated sub-groups, such as our 110+ member strong female founder community that provides safe spaces to connect, learn, and share insights. Furthermore, the funds will be allocated to further developing overlapping networks, like our founders x investors group, which play a critical role in facilitating meaningful exchanges between those creating innovative ventures and those fueling their growth with strategic capital.
In addition, we plan to scale our popular initiatives, including regular events and our widely appreciated #femalefounderofficehours program—a platform where community members can access free, expert guidance on specific business challenges through one-on-one mentor sessions. With our Whatsapp community nearing 400 active members and the increasing momentum of our activities, this new influx of capital will not only boost our membership and engagement but also solidify our commitment to providing valuable resources and opportunities tailored exclusively for female-identifying leaders and investors.
