West Suffolk Hive CIC Secures £30K Boost to Expand Community, Education, and Environmental Initiatives

West Suffolk Hive CIC is thrilled to announce that we have successfully raised £30,000 in funding, a significant milestone that will help us further our mission of fostering community engagement, education, and environmental stewardship. As a dedicated community interest company, we are committed to creating inclusive spaces that promote learning, wellbeing, and active participation in environmental initiatives. Our vibrant outdoor community space in Rougham currently serves as a hub where residents can take part in a rich variety of educational and wellbeing sessions throughout the week. This new funding will enable us to expand these offerings, intensify our community outreach, and enhance our environmental projects. Moreover, it will support the coordination of larger events in Bury St Edmunds, such as the beloved Green Fair and the West Suffolk Home Education Fair, which continue to bring people together and inspire collective action. We have also enjoyed significant collaborative successes, including hosting Bury St Edmunds’ first BioBlitz event in partnership with the Bury Water Meadows Group, and working closely with various schools and local groups like SENDAT Academy, the Creative Education Centre, Sir Peter Hall School, and Westley Middle School. With the new funds, we plan to bolster our environmental education programs, expand well-being sessions, and improve our facilities, making it even easier for community members to enjoy activities such as birthday parties, workshops, and interactive outdoor sessions. This investment is not only a vote of confidence in our current projects but also an exciting stepping stone towards a future where community collaboration and engagement with the environment are at the heart of everything we do.
