Velox Energy Materials, a pioneering company at the forefront of energy materials solutions, has successfully raised $5 million in funding to accelerate its mission of facilitating the global transition to net zero emissions. Based in Queensland, the company is making significant strides in developing advanced energy storage technologies, particularly through its North Queensland Vanadium Project. This initiative aims to produce vanadium products that are essential for creating vanadium electrolyte, a critical component in Vanadium Redox Flow Batteries (VRFBs). These batteries are particularly advantageous as they can effectively pair with renewable energy sources, ensuring a continuous power supply 24 hours a day, an essential feature in achieving sustainable energy infrastructure.
In addition to the vanadium initiative, Velox Energy Materials is also advancing the Lake Pierre Lithium Project situated in eastern Quebec, which covers approximately 36km² and is prospective for unique ‘Moolyella-style lithium mineralization.’ Furthermore, the company is collaborating with Curtin University in Perth on the Kotai Hydrogen Project, which aims to unlock the potential of 'on-demand' hydrogen production using inert materials for safe transport. This multi-faceted approach heralds a new era in electricity storage solutions, positioning Velox Energy Materials as a leader in sustainable energy innovation. The newly secured funding will not only bolster these key projects but also encourage exploration of future business development opportunities, all dedicated to achieving efficient and safe energy storage for the world’s evolving energy needs.
