The H Foundation is thrilled to announce that it has successfully raised $1,100,000 through its recent fundraising campaign. Once sparked by a simple cocktail called the Goombay Smash, this grassroots effort began in 2001 when a group of visionary friends set out to make a meaningful impact in the fight against cancer. Over the years, The H Foundation has evolved into a dynamic nonprofit organization that showcases its commitment through signature events such as the Goombay Bash, Comedy for Cancer, and the Celebrity Golf Classic. With a remarkable track record of raising over $12 million since its inception, the foundation has directed nearly every dollar to the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University. This funding plays a critical role as seed money for innovative basic science cancer research projects, empowering them to vie for greater government and private funding. The recent $1,100,000 in donations is anticipated to leverage even more resources, contributing to the astonishing total of over $250 million directed toward groundbreaking cancer research initiatives. As a 501(c)(3) independent nonprofit, The H Foundation relies entirely on the generosity of businesses, communities, families, and individuals who share a passion to eradicate cancer. By participating in the Goombay Bash and its other fundraisers, supporters are not only having a great time but also playing an instrumental role in changing lives. Together, we continue to make strides towards a world without cancer, and we extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has contributed to this noble cause. Your support is our strength!
