Stride has secured $47.0 million in new investment capital from investors. The company specializes in simplifying the complexities faced by independent workers, addressing their primary challenges related to healthcare, savings, and tax benefits. Stride's core offering is a portable benefits system designed to allow companies to contribute to individual workers' benefits accounts. This system ensures that workers, regardless of their employment status, can manage their benefits independently and retain them as they move between roles or platforms.
The funding round underscores Stride's established position in the independent worker economy. Stride currently partners with over 130 organizations, including leading work platforms, employers, and service providers for non-benefited workers. Its extensive network includes prominent names such as Uber, Amazon, DoorDash, Instacart, Lyft, Grubhub, Patreon, Care.com, Gusto, Homebase, TaskRabbit, Recording Academy, and ShiftKey. These partnerships enable Stride to provide a comprehensive marketplace of health and wealth benefits to a vast population of independent workers. The company has previously raised $96 million in capital from investors including Venrock, New Enterprise Associates, F-Prime Capital, Mastercard, Allstate, and King River.
This latest capital infusion will be strategically deployed to accelerate Stride's growth initiatives and further enhance its platform. The company plans to expand its offerings, improve its technology, and broaden its reach to support an even greater number of independent workers and the organizations that engage them. By strengthening its infrastructure and expanding its service capabilities, Stride aims to continue its mission of providing essential benefits and financial security to the evolving independent workforce.
