Soundstripe, a premier music licensing platform, has secured $9.0 million in new funding from investors. This capital infusion marks a significant step for the company as it continues to expand its presence within the creator economy and beyond.
The company simplifies the complexities of music licensing, providing legal and accessible music for creatives worldwide. Traditional licensing often presents challenges due to its exclusive, inefficient, and expensive nature. Soundstripe addresses this by offering a comprehensive library that includes over 60,000 music tracks, stems for every original song, 95,000 sound effects, and 100,000 stock video clips, positioning itself as a production powerhouse for content creators.
Founded in 2016 by three professional musicians in Nashville, Soundstripe has rapidly grown its customer base to over one million users globally, facilitating more than 18 million licensed downloads. Initially a pioneering subscription licensing service for freelancers, the platform has since expanded its reach to cater to leading industry brands such as Microsoft, Pepsico, and Nike. Today, Soundstripe operates across various business lines, including self-serve small business, enterprise solutions, and publishing.
The newly raised capital is intended to support Soundstripe's ongoing growth initiatives and further enhance its platform capabilities. This includes potential investment in its recently debuted licensing marketplace, which offers access to music from premier labels for commercial use, currently in beta.
Looking ahead, Soundstripe aims to continue its trajectory of innovation and expansion, solidifying its position as a key resource for content creators seeking high-quality, legally cleared media assets in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
