SiPearl, a trailblazer in the development of European high-performance, low-power processors, has recently secured €152,000,000 in funding to drive its innovative projects forward. This significant capital injection marks a pivotal milestone for the company as it accelerates the creation of next-generation chips designed specifically for supercomputing and artificial intelligence applications. SiPearl's cutting-edge processors will initially be deployed within the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking ecosystem—a collective initiative focused on establishing world-class supercomputing infrastructures across Europe. These state-of-the-art systems aim to tackle strategic, sovereign challenges across a broad spectrum of critical sectors, including security, defense, generative AI, medical research, energy management, and climate, all while maintaining a reduced environmental footprint.
This landmark funding round will not only bolster SiPearl's research and development efforts but will also support the company’s robust partnership framework. Working closely with its 30 partners from the European Processor Initiative (EPI) consortium, SiPearl enjoys the backing of leading scientific institutions, supercomputing centres, and industry powerhouses that act as stakeholders, future clients, and end-users. The collaboration within the EPI consortium underscores the company’s commitment to addressing some of Europe’s most pressing technological and strategic challenges.
In addition to its strong scientific and industrial collaborations, SiPearl’s diverse and growing team of 200 professionals, based across France, Spain, and Italy, is well-positioned to harness the new funding. With renewed vigor and enhanced financial resources, SiPearl is set to lead innovations that could reshape the future landscape of supercomputing and AI in Europe and beyond, driving sustainable progress and economic growth in an increasingly digital world.
