SenseUP Biosciences has raised $3.5 million in a recent funding round, securing investment capital from investors. The company specializes in developing effective, selective, and eco-friendly pesticides and parasiticides designed to protect crops, livestock, and the broader environment. This funding round marks a significant step in the company's growth trajectory.
Leveraging deep expertise and patented technologies, SenseUP Biosciences employs a Corynebacterium-based fermentative platform. This platform enables the affordable and scalable production of encapsulated dsRNA, a key active ingredient. This dsRNA protects crops against various threats including insects, fungi, and viruses, and also serves as a postbiotic in animal feed and nutrition, highlighting its dual application and environmental benefits.
This capital infusion is intended to accelerate SenseUP Biosciences' strategic growth initiatives. The company plans to use the funds to expand its research and development capabilities, scale its proprietary production platform, and strengthen its team to meet growing demand. SenseUP Biosciences recently relocated its headquarters to BioCampus Cologne, marking a new phase of expansion. The company originated as a spin-off from the renowned German Institute for Biotechnology at Forschungszentrum Jülich (FZJ).
The successful funding round positions SenseUP Biosciences to further advance its mission of providing sustainable solutions for agricultural and animal health. With this investment, the company aims to enhance its product pipeline and expand its market presence, contributing to more resilient and environmentally sound agricultural practices globally.
