PARCH, an architectural practice and thought initiative, has announced it has secured $20,000 in investment capital from investors. The firm focuses on design research at the intersection of architecture, landscape, and the urban environment, employing an analytical, intellectual, and artistic approach. This funding round provides PARCH with resources to further its distinctive contributions to the field.
The practice is known for developing public space projects, ranging from 500 square meters to 75 hectares. PARCH primarily undertakes these through open competitions organized by local governments, encouraging broad participation. To date, PARCH has received seven national awards in Türkiye, including two first prizes, for its innovative designs.
Beyond its project-based work, PARCH maintains a strong commitment to architectural education, with team members accumulating over 20 years of teaching experience. This dedication is exemplified by the 'Park @ PARCH' program, a nationwide open call for a two-week internship and workshop launched in 2021 and 2022. This initiative selected 24 undergraduate architecture students through a portfolio-based process, fostering emerging talent.
The newly raised capital of $20,000 is earmarked to support PARCH's ongoing design research and development efforts. It will enable the practice to expand its capacity for public space projects and enhance its analytical capabilities. Furthermore, the investment is expected to bolster PARCH's educational initiatives, potentially allowing for the growth and continuation of programs like 'Park @ PARCH'.
Looking ahead, PARCH plans to leverage this funding to solidify its position as a leading voice in architectural design and urban thought. The investment is anticipated to facilitate the expansion of its innovative projects and research, reinforcing its commitment to creating impactful public spaces and contributing to the advancement of architectural discourse and education.
