Parabilis Medicines, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company, has secured $50.0 million in new investment capital. This funding round will support the company's mission to develop innovative medicines for people living with cancer, leveraging its pioneering Heliconâ„¢ discovery platform. The Cambridge, Mass.-based company specializes in engineering precisely-tuned, stabilized helical peptide therapeutics designed to unlock a large number of traditionally undruggable targets.
The Helicon™ platform enables the discovery of various targeting mechanisms, including functional protein-protein interaction inhibitors, bifunctional degraders, and radioligand therapeutics. Parabilis Medicines' lead clinical program, FOG-001, is a first-in-class TCF-blocking β-catenin inhibitor currently being evaluated in a Phase 1/2 study for patients with colorectal cancer and other solid tumors. This program serves as a key validation of the platform's ability to address challenging intracellular protein-protein targets.
The newly raised capital is expected to accelerate the clinical development of FOG-001 and advance Parabilis Medicines' pipeline of other first-in-class programs. These programs target proteins known to be relevant to numerous cancers but have historically been considered intractable with traditional drug modalities. The investment underscores confidence in the company's approach to tackling complex disease mechanisms.
With this latest infusion of capital, Parabilis Medicines continues to strengthen its financial position, building upon more than $500 million raised to date from leading life sciences investors. The company plans to utilize these funds to further expand its research and development efforts, aiming to bring transformative therapeutic options to patients in need and solidify its leadership in helical peptide drug discovery.
