Nuclera, a company specializing in protein science, has announced it has secured $11.7 million in new investment capital. This funding round will support the company's ongoing efforts to advance its technology and expand its market presence.
Nuclera exists to remove uncertainty from protein science, pioneering multiplex protein screening to help researchers accelerate discovery. The company's core offering, eProtein Discovery™, combines unique cell-free expression systems, novel digital microfluidics, and robust screening data. This integrated solution enables scientists to perform in-house protein screening, characterization, and small-scale expression within days, including for challenging membrane proteins. The aim is to make protein access routine for every lab, empowering scientists to focus more on discovery.
The $11.7 million in investment capital is expected to fuel Nuclera's strategic growth initiatives. The funds will be directed towards scaling operations, enhancing research and development for the eProtein Discovery™ platform, and expanding the company's reach within the life sciences sector. This capital infusion is significant for Nuclera as it continues to develop solutions that streamline protein access and accelerate scientific progress.
Founded in 2013 by PhD students at the University of Cambridge, Nuclera has grown to employ over 100 individuals across its presences in Cambridge, UK, and Boston, MA. This latest funding round underscores investor confidence in Nuclera's technology and its potential to impact human health breakthroughs. The company plans to leverage this investment to further its mission of making protein access a certainty, not a gamble, for researchers worldwide.
