Nature Robots has secured $4.6 million in investment capital to advance its mission of supporting regenerative and ecological agriculture through AI and robotics. The company, a spin-off from the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI), develops autonomous robotic systems designed to operate in harmony with nature and humans.
Founded in January 2022 in OsnabrĂĽck, Nature Robots specializes in creating high-resolution, three-dimensional plant maps. Its specially designed long-term autonomous monitoring robot, Lero, collects detailed data on vegetables, other plant crops, and weeds. This information is then migrated into a monitoring user interface, providing valuable insights for agronomists, farmers, and plant breeders. The AI and robotics systems are engineered for use in natural and arbitrarily structured environments, including vegetable production, orcharding, viticulture, agroforestry, forestry, and agrophotovoltaic settings. Customers benefit from reduced workload and enhanced productivity within their agricultural systems.
